This is a temporary contact page; a contact form will be added here in the near future.
In the mean time, you can reach emptywheel by email at emptywheel AT gmail.com.
Please be patient and allow reasonable response time; thanks for your readership and participation at emptywheel.
Oops, I screwed up and double posted. Please pull the second one. It didn’t look like the first one went in so I came back later and posted it again. I apologize.
The ability to respond to posts was useful, any chance you’ll be able to add that? Also, we like to print and read offline. Any chance we’ll be able to do that? Cut and paste to a Word document works, but it’s a pain.
Thanks for all you’ve done, and continue to do. It takes courage to stand up with a high profile these days.
Regards,
Cliff
can yall put a “home” category under your banner.
it seems impossible when entering “www.wmptywheel.net” in the google to come up with anything other than a specific ew post.
thus putting emptywheel under ie “favorites” results in returning later to a single, already-posted essay.
i cant find a way to access the entirety of the site with one entry in “favorites:

Yep, just give us a little time; still working some kinks out.
I see that orionatl beat me to it on the need for a “Home” button to make navigation easy.
Other than that, I actually like the way the comments look
I became a member of fdl specifically for your work and I’d like to set up a monthly system with you guys but I refuse to use PayPal.
The name “Emptywheel” in giant type on the header should be a huge hyperlink to the main page
Thanks, makes it much easier.
I’ll second Cliff’s request for a printer friendly button for posts :) I know you’re still getting up and running, so no hurry, just when you get a chance.
Thanks,
Heather
Howdy! I wish there were a “share” button so I could distribute this among all my social networking sites. Keep up the awesome work!
What is the significance of ‘empty wheel’?
What’s it mean?
Thanks, interesting site.

@Laura:
Laura,
I just noticed no one has yet answered your question.
Marcy T Wheeler blogs under the pseudonym emptywheel.
M. T. Wheel. ==> it’s her abbreviated name.
Grist for your mill, as if you needed more.
“Enterprising law-enforcement officers… can flick a distant switch and turn a standard mobile phone into a roving mic or eavesdrop on occupants of cars equipped with travel assistance systems.”
Scientific American December 2011 pg 24, “Freedom Fighter – Which side was Steve Jobs on”.
First time I’ve seen this in print. Usually the discussion is focused on cell phone location tracking, or last week, root kits. The capability to remotely turn a phone into a bug has been part of US “national technical means” since at least the 1950′s. Ironically, the higher the technology, the easier it is to do.
Moving Bradley Manning to Leavenworth seems to have effectively “disappeared” him.
Since I’m on a roll, almost 500k people were added to those “not in the labor force” in November. Happy f**** Thanksgiving to them. Household Data, summary table A-1, BLS news release http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf
Thanks for all you do.

Judge Cebull’s mere act of forwarding the racist (And, by the way, misogenous-the President’s mother and a dog?!) email is solid cause to demand and get his resignation. At a minimum he should not be allowed to hear any cases involving people of color or women. (His comments are not a defense and further by them he violates the Hatch Act.) He is a disgrace
Hi, Marcy,
I didn’t notice this until today, and I think no one else mentioned it in the thread…don’t even know if you care at this point, or if it matters, or if there’s anything you can do about it now, but there is a typo in this title:
SCOTUS and the Designated Strip Sea[r]ch Observers
Thanks for all the fabulous work you do!
