It’s not just Everret. Lot’s of former career government officials have articles and books being held up for bogus declssification reviews.

Some, like Everret have previously pulished and have confined their new work to the limits of the previuosly approved material, yet they remain in limbo.

The abuse of the classification power in the administration is going to have fallout for years to come.

I just flashed on Nixon and all the non-redacted stuff that came out (Pentagon Papers, etc) only because of courageous newspapers and reporting.

â€And it appears to be a long time gone.â€

heh. â€extralegal.†Is that a euphamism for â€High Crimes and Misdemeanors?â€

I saw my first â€IMPEACH BUSH†yard sign in a yard on Christmas eve, and it made my whole weekend. I’ve seen bumper stickers, but this is the first professionally produced copy I’ve seen on a yard sign…

Oh man, smiley, you should come to Ann Arbor. There are Impeach Bush signs on every street. Though they’re so old now, some of them are beginning to look ratty.

Wow. The way this post opened, I thought I was reading Chapter 1. Whew!

I’ll have more on this post later. I think there’s a much larger context going on in the background behind the Iran redaction story.

Hate to be a blogwhore, but this might be a good reminder… http://www.time.com/time/magaz…..55,00.html

Of five key issues critical to Bu$hCo, and reported in TIME May 1, 2006 TIME, only â€Reclaim Security Credibility†remains an option, and it is entirely focused on Iran: â€Presidential advisers believe that by putting pressure on Iran, Bush may be able to rehabilitate himself on national security, a core strength that has been compromised by a discouraging outlook in Iraq.â€

    Tea Leaves indicate:
An Internet search suggests that a gallon of gas in Iran runs less than 60 cents U.S.
GWBush apparently believes the Millenialist dogma that an upheaval in the MidEast will hasten the Second Coming (see Kevin Phillips’ â€Bush Dynastyâ€).
The Neocons Last Gasp is hastened by military engagements that apparently did not go as planned (in Iraq, in Lebanon); their time is running out.
According to news reports, Iran intends to switch from the dollar to the euro for its currency base.

    Ominous.

Thanks for the link, William. Now I don’t have to do it. Looks like I was reasonably close last week…
