Marcy, why do you believe it is the case that only you have covered the Brady side channel to frame Biden?

None of them wanted to cover the attempt to frame Joe Biden under Bill Barr’s DOJ.

This should be a Watergate level of story in an election year and I was literally the only one who covered it.

The rest of the media have ignored it. [Minus bad faith people like Miranda Devine].

What does your gut tell you?

All of the Russiagate scandals the past 10 years, left wingers and media ate it up. All of the Trump scandals and corruption and outrage, left wingers and media eat it up.

But the Brady-Barr-Rudy-Smirnov effort to frame Biden is a black hole.

I don’t know. But I find it especially instructive that NYT TOOK OUT the references to Rudy when they reported on Smirnov.

      • Error Prone says:

Institutional inertia. An influential senior Republican Senator pushed the Smirnov representations out the door, and media deferred. Grassley is not a bonb thrower, they presumed. What confuses me, is if lazy and deferrential, it’s easy to read this site and then write up a story later while at the bar. Likely, the editors squelched any such stories, and so next time, why bother?

Hagseth worries me. What if the sexual allegations are distractions intended to deflect Senate resources from digging any further?

    • Error Prone says:

Those tattoos are not a manufactured distraction. They are real and a worry. The question, can Trump control him is a double edged sword.
Do you trust how Trump would control him? Do you trust him to resist Trump controlling him, because he has worse in mind?

      • Alan King says:

The sexual allegations are easily shrugged off these days. This gives wiggle room for the senate to approve. To reject the nomination may require evidence that rises above the high bar granted to Trump.

This morning on ABCs “This Week” Jonathan Karl allowed Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) to say that Trump has a mandate. 1.5% more popular votes is not a mandate. Nor is 312 electoral votes. The media can begin cleaning up its act with shutting lies like “Trump has a mandate” down.

Barack Obama won with 53% of the popular vote and 385 EC votes. THAT is more of a mandate.
