Hey EW
I love Fridays even more now because of EW Fridays with NS.
Did you mean the Appointments Clause vis a vis Melon Husk and DOGE? (I kept hearing appropriations clause, which I think has to do with money…)

Don’s tariffs are on, off, on, off, on, off. The guy doesn’t know if he’s coming or going. The best part? The incompetent orange clown can’t get his story straight about what is going on. What…an…idiot.
I work for the third largest retailer in the world and every day there is a new direction because Trump can’t his act together and we have to scramble and adjust. Business is hard enough without THAT clown making things worse for retailers.
I am married to a Brazilian national and we are working on alien residency to the U.S. We turned our application in on Valentine’s Day this year.
In Brazil, limes are called lemons. When I asked what lemons are called, I get silence and a blank look (LOL). I’ve never seen a lemon in Brazil, actually. Lemons might be a northern hemisphere fruit.
Rayne says:
Try asking about citron (the Latin scientific name) or cidra when asking about lemons. Limon is a generic term referring to both limes and lemons.
Sure, they’re “northern hemisphere” if you think pre-Byzantine Empire Rome is northern.
* I googled 3rd largest retailer in the world. There is seems to be conflicting data about that. I will qualify my statement by stating: I work for the 3rd largest retailer in the U.S.
…but management says WE are the 3rd largest retailer in the world being in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Japan, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Mexico, Korea, Taiwan, China, Iceland, and Sweden.

Kristi Noem on closing the border in Face The Nation interview March 09, 2025: “This is President Donald Trump’s country where we have a border, where we have laws, and it applies equally to everybody.”
What is equally rich, is this quote: “Americans have to live by the law, so do those who come to this country.”

Has anyone noticed that credit card payments have been slow to be applied recently? For me, both Citi and Chase used to apply payments on weekends (SA and SU) now neither are doing so any longer and only applying payments Monday through Friday. This has just starting happening in February 2025. For me, I like to have a $0.00 balance on my card statements. Because a recent delay in applying the payment occurred, my last statement on one card statement had a balance. Not the end of the world, but it affected my credit score by a few 10 points. While not a big deal, it is if the score hovers between outstanding and excellent on the credit score scale. My payment was applied the day after the Sunday generated statement – so that balance stays on the card until the next update.
Essentially you get dinged on credit score if you have a balance – because it affects your available credit and that reporting stays on the score for 30 days until the next update.
In my state, car insurance is based upon credit score and it means a few hundred dollars in savings every six months between excellent and outstanding. My car insurance was up for renewal as well. I received the new premium and saw that my premium when up. I called my insurance company and asked why, and they said it was because my credit score had gone down when they pulled my credit to renew.
Normally, I’d complain to the CFPB, but that bureau is essentially gone now. It’s maddening how “they” are just coming for the average consumer these days from every direction.

I was reading an article about Mexican restaurants having to come up with work-arounds because limes and avocados are imports.
