What is the possibility that what Tulsi Gabbard said is true? Do we know that Iran is working to make nuclear weapons? If I remember right the George Dubya administration claimed they had to invade Iraq because of the Sept. 11 attack. No one believed it so then they claimed Iraq was training terrorist. No one believed that either. So then they repeated over and over about weapons of mass destruction for weeks while the CIA water boarded some one until he finally figured out what they wanted him to say. Then even Colin Powell believed, what to me, seemed an obvious lie. United Nations inspection teams were going out every day in search of evidence. The big lie was almost universally accepted. Is there some reason I am not hearing any questions about whether Iran is actually building nuclear weapons? Did I miss something?

Indeed, there appears to be some sort of shadow framework guiding many in the right wing that may explain that this an understood trade-off.

When you try digging into the origins of Qanon, you run across Iran hawk after Iran hawk. Where I’m to the point I believe the original purpose of what Qanon hijacked, was a plan to use social media for regime change with Iran and/or Syria [I have many more reasons than simply Iran hawks to believe that, but won’t go into it here]. For example, characters like Ezra Cohen, Mike Flynn, Paul Vallely are very hawkish on Iran, and they are names that come up wrt Qanon.

In particular, Flynn and Cohen demonstrate they are pro Russia and anti Ukraine. I’m perplexed what’s going on there.

But, if there was some sort of deal that Israel gets Gaza & West Bank, Russia gets Ukraine, China gets Taiwan, and in exchange Russia and China will back off Iran support, that may explain some of what we are seeing play out.

For example, in a Twitter spaces during December 2024, so during the transition, Cohen discussed recent strikes of facilities in Iran by Israel that Biden green lit. Cohen started whining that one of the destroyed facilities built weapons that Iran would send to Ukraine, so that’s a bad thing.

Similarly, Miranda Devine, for example, whined that because of MH17 sanctions, poor Russia, the victim, was forced to seek out financial support from Chine and seek out a Rosneft deal with China.

And we see things like FBI Director Patel with Chinese investments, Chinese investments in Trump’s Crypto, Chinese investments in Trump’s Truth Social.
