“Are You Still Talking about Jeffrey Epstein?”
There was a remarkable moment in Trump’s cabinet meeting. A journalist asked, first, if it was true that Jeffrey Epstein had worked for a foreign intelligence service. Then he asked why there was a minute missing in the video released to show no one entered in cell.
Trump blew up.
Trump: Are you still talking about Jeffrey EPstein? This guy’s been talked about for years. You’re asking — we have Texas, we have this, we have all of the things that, people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is UNbelieveable. You want to waste the time [points to Bondi] you feel like answering?
Bondi: I don’t mind answering.
Trump: I mean, I can’t believe you’re asking a question about Epstein at a time like this, where we’re having some of the greatest success, and also tragedy, with what happened in Texas. It just seems like … a desecration.
I can think of no moment in his ten year political career where Trump so obviously lost his cool because he was helpless to direct attention where he wanted it.
And it’s likely to only keep Epstein at the center of attention.
Update: Mike Cernovich has already posted that, “We will continue asking about Epstein.” Elon asks, “How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?”
Update: Liz Wheeler (no relation–but one of the propagandists originally promised Epstein files) wrote a long screed about how Trump is misreading his base. This is just part of it!
President Trump snaps at reporter who asks him Epstein question.
Trump is massively misreading his base on this one.
It could cost him the midterms.
People CARE about Epstein. Not only because of the grisly crimes against children, but because there’s evidence of a government cover up.
Evidence like Epstein’s autopsy showing injuries incongruent with suicide. Evidence like the British Palace’s response to ABC’s nuked report on Epstein & Prince Andrew & Bill Clinton. Evidence like former U.S. Atty Alex Acosta saying he was told to back off because Epstein was an intel asset & then finding his DOJ emails mysteriously disappeared, etc.
And now government officials are telling us to ignore the evidence in front of our eyes & believe them—without evidence. Nope. Not gonna do it. We voted for radical transparency & JUSTICE.
President Trump should not underestimate how much goodwill he’s lost among his base due to Pam Bondi’s mishandling of the Epstein files. People are furious. I would know, I was the collateral damage in Bondi’s infernal Epstein binder debacle. She should’ve been fired on the spot.
[snip]
Epstein is foundational. That’s why Trump’s base has a visceral reaction to being told we’ll get the Epstein files… and now being told actually we’re getting nothing.
Pam Bondi didn’t tell us the truth. She seems more interested in being a Fox News star than keeping promises. Something is fishy about the Epstein stuff. His racket. His death. His friends. His intel connections. Patting us on the head & telling us “nothing to see here” is infuriating.
President Trump should not underestimate the significance of this moment. He’s losing goodwill by the day—thanks to Pam Bondi. Trump is smart. He cares about his base. He listens.
He should listen now, so it doesn’t cost him the midterms.
He’s spinning too many plates at once, or death by a thousand cuts? Pick your analogy, but he hasn’t had as much pressure from the right…ever? Elon with his party and bashing his BBB, MAGATs with EPstein, the flood in Texas. And it’s Taco Tuesday on top of that.
BBB?
Trump’s future cell-mate: Big Beautiful Bill
The problem facing Convict-1 / Krasnov / TACO is that his name is all over the Epstein documents that made it through the Ghislaine Maxwell trial as evidence, in spite of Bondi’s increasingly desperate efforts to bury all the bones. Too late, Pam. Rayne’s summary in the prior post comments was pretty good but likely just the tip of the iceberg of documented evidence with sound provenance.
The ‘old news’ gambit is also a tell. We’ll see what Rupert and Vlad decide to do, because at some point in the near future it will be more in their interest to cut Convict-1 / Krasnov / TACO off due to the diminishing returns on their investment.
I see them referred to as the Epstein documents, The Epstein lists, and the The Epstein files. “Files,” a word so goddamn loose it could mean anything but usually boils down to two things in the digital muck: photos and videos, which will either fry your eyeballs or soothe your soul. The the near future can’t come soon enough.
The minute you start writing about “Krasnov,” I stop reading and move on.
Not only losing his cool, but waving the shrouds of dead children to avoid answering legitimate questions about the potential covering up of sexual abuse of minors. He is just the worst utter, complete and total piece of absolute trash.
Trump made a huge political mistake in dropping these investigations. The left needs to keep hammering this issue. Never allow it to go away. Make it haunt him.
Like he has ever cared about dead children, starved or slaughtered in their classrooms.
No, trash is useful. It can be converted to a form of fuel.
Well now – first I have heard of a one-minute gap in the released tape. Both versions? The Gizmodo site (yeah – I know – ex-Gawker) I looked at has a 15 second blurb that shows the gap – as well as a 37 second version from earlier in the day showing (allegedly) him being escorted to his cell on a lower level almost completely out of camera view.
Point being that the tape released is garbage proving nothing.
No conspiracy theory here – this just looks like a sop thrown to the masses as a distraction.
For the record: in the early 2010s I worked for two+ years for the NCDOC and know first hand that not all cameras in a facility are hot – and not all of those that are can automatically record – once action/movement is detected recording can begin. It is not uncommon to place a dead unit in plain sight for the ruse of making those incarcerated believe they are on camera – behavioral action use.
Does the MCC have 100% hot cameras? Unknown – but what got released looks like garbage to me.
The Felon Guy seems triggered though…there is that bright spot.
I wonder if TFG is triggered because for one of the few (only?) times in his life he is being subjected to a baseless conspiracy theory bullshit lie that could paint him into a corner with no good options and no lawsuit hijinks to save him. Even Obama was able to release his birth certificate to try to stop that utter nonsense. Trump can’t release something that doesn’t exist, and firing Bondi (for following his initial lies) will just cause the frothy right to froth harder. EW, Rayne, and others here have frequently spoken of Trump as the face-eating leopard to others on right. Looks like it’s time for him to stare down that spotted kitty.
You mean that a guy who achieved power through his masterful use of baseless conspiracy theories might lose his Golden throne through a baseless conspiracy theory? And his hand-picked deep state will be unable to help?
How poetic, if it actually happens.
Suicides in jails are a lot more common than people want to believe. It’s much more fun to think Epstein was murdered without anyone noticing, than to admit that he could have killed himself.
There’s still a critical problem if an inmate with Epstein’s public profile/notoriety and potential for national security risks was not adequately monitored to assure his safety and account for his disposition — regardless of suicide or murder.
This is still a scandal.
Exactly. While I don’t pretend to know what happened and don’t want to peddle conspiracy theories, we all saw The Godfather Part 2. All it would need is a discussion that included a window of time for the “Epstein Didn’t…” crowd to be both right and wrong.
Yes, it is a scandal, for what that’s worth these days. I won’t indulge in speculation, tho.
It did bring to mind Sir Athur Conan Doyle’s “The Adventure of Silver Blaze” for some reason:
Gregory: Is there any other point to which you would wish to draw my attention?
Holmes: To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time.
Gregory: The dog did nothing in the night-time.
Holmes: That was the curious incident.
Curious, indeed!
Rayne’s correct that a high-profile inmate should have been looked at more closely, and as noted before suicide isn’t unusual especially for inmates charged with what Epstein had on his rap sheet (they’re not liked inside). I don’t have the specific numbers, but the usual scuttlebutt is that guys in his place and in solitary as well are more prone to suicide.
However, one key part of the scandal is why DoJ thought this ‘evidence’ closed off the cynicism. It doesn’t, and since Bondi keeps changing her story about the reviews plus several other misrepresentations even in court the reasonable person would insist on independent and complete raw data to be satisfied that the DoJ story was true.
Epstein was on suicide watch when he died. And one of the rules of suicide watch, “NEVER leave the guy alone”. Yet Epstein was in an isolated cell that day. I don’t think it’s ridiculous to suggest that the government had no problem with Epstein killing himself.
I believe that suicides are not unusual in prison. I do not see his possible murder as fun. I agree that he might have killed himself, but will you admit that it is possible that he did not die at his own hand? I don’t know, but neither do you.
Rosemary Woods, is that you?
punaise – nah, just little old Paul Proteus with a touch of Ed Finnerty…
Sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss…..
We know now that a list of prominent Democrats cavorting with Epstein does not exist , contray to tweets by Musk’s rats .
I am pretty sure the client list exists in some form, because Epstein wasn’t selling tickets at Coney Island as far as we know. Someone was vetting the visitors. Epstein would grasp that as protection as well.
I think Elno does have something but is trying to leverage Convict-1 / Krasnov / TACO to do something he wants. I would also be surprised if Vlad and/or MBS doesn’t have it as well. Even though Elno is well known for wild claims, this is something that has real legal consequences (can you say ‘defamation’) even if the target is a public figure because a pretty serious crime is being alleged here.
We already know there were Democrats — at least one given the massive stink raised by the right-wing about the highest profile Democrat, Bill Clinton.
Been there. Why obsess about Democrats in relation to Epstein at all when none of them we know of became both convicted felons AND POTUS, able to steal and purge records from multiple investigations with impunity.
I have always liked Clinton despite being frustrated by his triangulating while in office, but if there were enough evidence to convict him of an Epstein-related crime, I’d be one of the first clamoring for him to go to jail. And I know I’m not a lone lefty on that score. I have never heard anyone on the right say anything like that should a republican, let alone Trump, be exposed to that kind of evidence.
There’s a difference between clear and convincing evidence sufficient to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, and material sufficient to compromise someone. Clinton has been compromised; getting on a plane repeatedly with Epstein is not proof of criminal acts on its own, but it’s compromising.
Liking someone or not has nothing to do with this situation.
IMO the Bill Clinton-Epstein link is overblown (pun intended). Clinton has no documented history of being sexually attracted to children. All the women he’s ever been linked with has been an adult. Sure, Monica Lewinsky was young, BUT she could legally give consent.
OTOH, Drumpf has a long and sordid history of being attracted to children, starting with his own daughter. There was the 1992 video of him pointing to a 10 year old and saying I’ll be dating her 20 years. There was his purchase of a teen beauty pageant and his bragging to Howard Stern about walking in naked CHILDREN changing backstage. It just seems like example 89,0073, 589 of another Conservative accusation being an admission.
In your opinion. So noted. No big deal that the most powerful man in the world compromised himself by engaging in consensual extramarital sex with one of the most junior persons on White House staff.
Meanwhile, Clinton is still compromised by multiple appearances on Epstein’s flight records.
He remains a lesson on what not to do while in the White House or after, when his long-beleaguered wife still had a chance at running for POTUS.
I want to think it matters, but it doesn’t really. While perhaps momentarily fashionable to be seen as pushing back against Trump, these people have no other home, no other plausible platform that some lefty blog like Emptywheel might publicize something they said. And the smart ones know that pushing too far to the right will also leave them out to sea. I suppose their ecosystem will test drive a few theories to explain why Trump was bamboozled by Pam Bondi, or Elon deleted the files, or something to make sure their god remains such – no matter the disappointment of not having an actual Q drop coming to life.
These fellow citizens are just off
I’m hoping and hoping Gavin Newsome goes on tv and says- when, I mean if, I’m President I would release ALL of the many Epstein Files including the extensive and damning List that Pam Bondi does not want you to see.
It didn’t take long. Alex Jones now saying that not releasing the files was actually 11 dimensional chess by his beloved and wise leader, as he is using the files as blackmail against the deep state, and by pretending they files don’t exist, he is in fact secretly using them as cudgels to force fealty from those pesky deep state actors. I am sensing a lot of relief on their part that they can have peaceful closure and continue to love the leader
I saw a clip of Alex Jones sitting in his car expressing his disgust at the situation and claiming the news made him nauseous. This was about 3 hours ago. You’ve got newer news from AJ where he’s now reversed his position ??
Frank Anon –
“These fellow citizens are just off”
Vonnegut nailed it in 1952 in ‘Player Piano’ (his first novel – about a permanently unemployed working class, dispossessed by managerial engineers and automation.) with his Shah of Bratpuhr and the translator Khashdrahr:
“Khashdrahr stopped translating and frowned perplexedly, “Please, this average man, there is no equivalent in our language I’m afraid.”
“You know,” said Halyard, “the ordinary man, like, well, anybody—those men working back on the bridge, the man in that old car we passed. The little man, not brilliant, but good hearted, plain, ordinary, everyday kind of person.”
Khashdrahr translated.
“Aha,” said the Shah, nodding, “Takaru.”
“What did he say?”
“Takaru,” said Khashdrahr. “Slave.”
“No Takaru,” said Halyard, speaking directly to Shah. “Ci-ti-zen.”
“Ahhhhh,” said the Shah. “Ci-ti-zen.” Takaru—citizen. Citizen—Takaru.”
“No Takaru!” said Halyard.
Khashdrahr shrugged. “In the Shah’s land are only the Elite and the Takaru.”
If we are not there yet we are on the way methinks…but just because there are parallels is no reason to stop fighting.
I suspect you’re right. He’s not being held accountable for anything. This particular outrage will have a short shelf life.
The base will never let the client list go away. They can proclaim self-righteously that it’s for justice for victims, but there are two main reasons:
1. Vengeance against powerful Democrats they believe are on the list
2. Vindication for Trump. I think even the most devout cultists hate that Trump was best friends with Epstein, and hate that there’s even speculation around this.
I think Trump knows this won’t go away but he’s stuck. All his conspiracies and lies that he’s used to his advantage are backfiring on him. No “list” will ever be sufficient until all Democrats are arrested.
Frankly, I’m surprised he and the DOJ haven’t fabricated a list, full authoritarian style, if not to arrest and prosecute enemies legally, to publicly shame and ruin careers.
The word “righteousness” in their bibles is more accurately translated as “justice”, as I understand it. Do they want justice, or do they want to feel good?
“I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for injuring me. If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times,” says Mr Lamech, Gen. 4:24. Genesis, a quote for every season and every heart, no matter how worm-eaten.
N.B. Revenge of such magnitude is expressly forbidden for Cain’s fratricide. But hey, times change…
They want both. Magats are screaming all over social media that there haven’t been arrests of Democrats, for COVID, the Russia investigation, for the immigration “invasion”, the 2020 election “steal”, “rogue leftist judges”, J6 prosecutions… The list goes on.
They were screaming about this before the recent Epstein news. They are fueled by vengeance. The Epstein files are just a tool for that.
Vengeance for what? Also, I find it hard to believe they were voting for “transparency and Justice” by electing Trump. MAGA has Trump Derangement Syndrome backwards.
I think in this context “vengeance” is placeholding for “seeing others suffer as a distraction from one’s own suffering” as in “if I have to suffer, I damned well better see others suffering MORE.” It makes sense in the context of standard Republican politics where you make the “other” groups the enemies so the white, uneducated poor folks have someone to feel superior to so you don’t have to actually do anything useful to get their support. This appears to be building into a case where that standard tactic may actually backfire in a big way. (sarcasm) You hate to see it, really… (/sarcasm)
And right on queue, the DOJ just launched a criminal investigation into James Comey and John Brennan for the Trump-Russia probe.
Indeed. TDS really stands for Trump DEVOTION Syndrome. It makes formerly reasonable people become passionately unhinged in their worship of Trump.
Right on cue Fox is talking about Trump’s miraculous survival of Butler assassination attempt.
It is pretty interesting timing that the Epstein file was wrapped up just in time for Trump to host Netanyahu. Wrapped up and put a bow dismissing the potential for blackmail and the cause of death.
I’m skeptical that a man who made a lot of money leveraging assets would throw in the towel just 36 days after his incarceration. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/07/fraud-and-blackmail-jeffrey-epsteins-finances.html
OT, a violent kidnapping by ICE just occured in the Financial District of San Francisco. This is a first. It was well documented and the punk ICE ‘agents’ looked scared and overwhelmed by the dozens of people who stepped in and tried to disrupt the kidnapping. the street was blocked in fron of the vehicle for a bit.
They are testing new waters.
It isn’t at SFGate (yet?), but really local news has it:
https://missionlocal.org/2025/07/video-ice-agents-brandish-rifles-drive-through-protesters-at-s-f-immigration-court/
I’d say what I think of ICE and CBP, but the screen would burst into flame.
They ran over someone as they left the scene.
They didn’t quite run over the person, who had been hanging onto the hood of whatever vehicle it was.
There are questions about the mounted unit in L.A.: where did it come from, what agency is it actually part of, where were the trailers parked while this was going on.
I found this:
Where are lapd horses kept?
Griffith Park
Situated at 3934 Rigali Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90039, the Los Angeles Police Department Mounted Platoon is adjacent to the expansive Griffith Park, making it an ideal location for diverse training opportunities for both officers and horses.
There is no doubt that documentation exists showing that prominent Dems are on “The List”. What keeps Trump from pulling the ring from the grenade is his inclusion on such list and the knowledge that the bomb will fall between his legs.
The extended quote from Trump at the top of this post is a good example of the use of language by Trump and the right-wingers Marcy pointed out in this post: https://www.emptywheel.net/2025/07/06/seeing-language-as-a-tool-of-authoritarianism/. He is angrily trying to dictate the way reporters cover him. He attacks them for not adhering to his vision. He calls the question a desecration. But of what? There is no antecedent.
The deflection techniques “at a time like this” shows his view of reality. First, he is having successes, and he wants the press to cover his successes, whatever they might be. Second, we have the standard, you can’t bring politics into the discussion in l ight of this tragedy we used to see in mass murders until the press laughed it into uselessness.
All this is a bullying technique, a use of the power he has as president, to impose order that is to his benefit.
Reporters are unable to respond if they want to keep their jobs with the billionaire media. And so the tactic usually works. We onlyknow this because it was caught on video.
“All this is a bullying technique. …”
Spot on a la the Oval Office attempted ambush of Zelenskyy. And no coincidence that the Thiel creature would dog whistle this classic tune in a speech:
https:// talkingpointsmemo. com/news/jd-vance-some-americans-are-more-american-than-others
This was last Saturday. The Mamdani comments are particularly on-playbook for the bullying bunch. Disgusting.
He didn’t end his bullying with his barking back when asked about Epstein:
He’s already killed VOA; he’s used SLAPP suits to pressure media into bribes; ICE arrested a journalist in CA. What’s next? This needs to be discussed more widely and a line drawn firmly about the First Amendment.
His idea of “corrupt” is not praising him all the time, and covering what actually happens, not what he wants to have happen.
IOW: media failure to provide narcissistic supply = corrupt media
Yes, at a time like this when we are grieving over those poor dead children in Texas but let’s take a poll among our cabinet members here about whether we should gold leaf this room we’re sitting in. These are not serious, competent people. They are just bobbleheads for media consumption – so many were chosen for how they appeared on TV.
missing detail: the reporter asked if Epstein ever worked for “an American or a foreign intelligence agency”
So American agencies as well.
Trump then does a hilarious Allen Iverson “talking bout practice” bit, except it’s about Epstein.
Of course Trump also has his own connections to American intelligence agencies, which to my knowledge, Trump has not been asked about point blank like that. I would love to see reporters double down and ask Trump about his own connections, like that question about Epstein.
Since Emptywheel quoted Liz Wheeler, here is Mike Benz discussing Epstein and CIA and Iran-Contra.
Not to take Benz at face value for what he says, and I’m really skeptical of his motives, but this gives some indication of messaging coming into MAGA. And a topic that the mainstream media will not address.
https://archive.is/2VRH2
Here’s an interview of Benz by Rion, I think for OANN.
https://x.com/MikeBenzCyber/status/1942792619731607664
Again, not to take what he says at face value, and to question his motives. But he gets into Epstein and Adnan Khashoggi and CIA and Iran-Contra. He almost paints Reagan as a victim, as his administration was dogged by this CIA operation.
And, of course, he doesn’t bring up the October Surprise, which Iran-Contra is more or less an extension from, involving Reagan’s campaign manager turned CIA Director William Casey. (If people haven’t read Craig Unger’s 2024 book on this, I highly recommend.)
Benz himself was appointed by Trump in December in 2020 to the State Department. Since then he has made it his mission to go after Burisma and USAID and Ukraine and Hunter. I believe Benz had a huge role in exposing Hunter’s CIA connections via Miranda Devine.
If you’re a businessman doing a lot of international travelling, the CIA is probably going to be interested, and they especially will be interested if they want influence in any of them.
I had an uncle who travelled as part of his job, and my mother noticed that there were coups (or attempts) in countries a month or so after he visited. He wasn’t CIA, AFAIK, but some of the people with him…
MAGA has proven they will swallow just about anything no matter how ridiculous. Remember his answer to what happened to his ear he purportedly “took a bullet to”? “I’m a fast healer” or something similar.
There’ll be a bridge too far, a shark too jumped, but whether it’s over Epstein is debatable. *WE* might be disgusted by Epstein’s hobbies, but it’s not misreading the base to imagine they might not be, even if some of their blowhards are saying they are disgusted.
“Hobbies?” Really? Really? I think you must not know what Epstein did, who he really was and what he orchestrated that consumed his life. So yeah, to say ‘hobbies’ is uninformed and insulting.
You misunderstand. MAGA would call them “hobbies”, not I. Sorry, I forgot the snark font.
I hope the crack pot news reporters keep asking insane questions.
Someone may have mentioned this (hard to scroll rn) but the MAGA response tells me (a) many of them believe Clinton is on the list and Trump isn’t or (b) the rest assume Trump has been disappeared from the list.
For the (a) group, either naivete or completely oblivious to his background.
Bill Clinton is compromised whether he appears in a document labeled “client list” or not. He took multiple flights with Jeffrey Epstein recorded in a flight log (link to that document provided in another comment) — that’s how this form of compromise works, by associating with a sexual predator combined with the difficulty of proving a negative (which Clinton had already struggled with, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman“).
Per NPR report dd. January 04, 2024:
This looks wretched, like a non-denial denial. A subsequent NPR article dd. January 13, 2024, looks even worse.
But MAGA blew off then that Trump was implicated just as well in the same reporting, and worse given Trump’s appointment of Alexander Acosta to Dept. of Labor during his first term.
There are far too many photos of Trump associating with Epstein for MAGA to be oblivious — it’s instead deliberate denial.
“I’ve known Jeff [Epstein] for 15 years. Terrific guy, He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
― Donald Trump
The Felon Guy likes them young, also. Or did.
I Called Everyone in Jeffrey Epstein’s Little Black Book, Mother Jones, Leland Nally, October 9, 2020
https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2020/10/i-called-everyone-in-jeffrey-epsteins-little-black-book/
It was not Epstein who died in that cell. It was a double, some unsheltered look-alike yanked off the streets and promised something if playing along. Epstein was moved by Witness Protection to either Cleveland, or Milwaukee where the DOGE people deleted the record of where, but Elon holds that information, a street address, while holding back for leverage. Move on. Also, did any of you see Osama’s body? Dumped at sea they say. Try that one on. At least the Epstein thing has somebody’s body – they say.
You wanna do CT here, you gonna hoffa do better than that.
Trump’s blowup over an Epstein question is clearly the reaction of a CEO who told his staff to make a problem “go away” then it didn’t. Nothing else explains the dull-faced announcements that “we won’t be releasing anything, and there’s nothing to release anyway (there is no list)” after months of dangling revelations the base is desperate for.
Because the base has been screaming for years about a global pedophile conspiracy, and here’s the guy! With a name and documented history, proving THEY WERE RIGHT! Trump will “get away” with this of course, the all-powerful Deep State exists to cover this type of problem. But why this became a problem is a very good question we will never get an answer for, just endless speculation to fill the black hole.
Do I dare say that MAGA-world is full of awful, self-fulfilling prophecies that turn out to be pointed at themselves?
“People CARE about Epstein. Not only because of the grisly crimes against children…“
I just wrote a long comment about this on another post but this is exactly what I was referring to: MAGA doesn’t even know what Epstein did. They think Epstein Island was full of little kids like it was Willy Wonka’s factory for pedos so anyone who visited was automatically guilty because they would have seen all the abused children who obviously shouldn’t be there. They aren’t referring to teenage girls as children, they mean it literally as prepubescent kids. Pam Bondi also refers to the victims as “little kids” which she means literally.
That’s what they think is being covered up. They couldn’t care less if Epstein and Trump had sex with teenagers because they don’t understand consent. They’re still trying to prove the Q conspiracy that Democrats and the Deep State were running a pedo ring as their excuse to execute them at Gitmo.
Btw, I recently told this to someone who listens to rightwing BS and his only response was to ask why Epstein would kill himself if his only crimes involved teenage girls and not little kids. That’s how insignificant they think the real crimes are.
Remember that at least some of the prominent MAGAs are in favor of lowering the age of consent from the common 16 or 18, and they want teenaged (read: inexperienced and poorly educated) brides.
(Adding here: for much of the 19th century, the age of consent in NJ was 10. Think about that. One of my multi-great-grandmothers was 13 or 14 when she married; he was 18 or so.)
“They couldn’t care less if Epstein and Trump had sex with teenagers because they don’t understand consent.”
Thanks, this is what I was trying to get at in my comment above, and doing a poor job of it.
MAGA
Many Adolescents Got Assaulted
Keeper.
We should remember that Epstein was hired by Douglas Barr, Bill Barr’s father, to teach at the Dalton School, one of the exclusive prep schools in NYC, which seems to be where Epstein began his “career.” After Douglas Barr left his headmaster position at Dalton, he became the headmaster of the Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY, one of the “little Ivy League” prep schools which included Riverdale and Horace Mann and, at least for athletic contests, Trmp’s own alma mater, the NY Military Academy. According to Noel Casler, the warm-up man for “The Apprentice” who violated his NDA to speak out against Trmp, Douglas Barr was nicknamed “Chester the Molester” while at Hackley.
I know from personal experience that there was at least one sexual predator employed at Hackley and Great Is the Truth: Secrecy, Scandal, and the Quest for Justice at the Horace Mann School by Amos Kamil and Sean Elder (NY: Farrar, Strauss, and Giroux, 2015 ISBN 978-0-374-16662-5) lays out a history of child sexual predation by teachers, administrators, and employees not only at Horace Mann but also throughout the elite prep schools across the nation. It should have been obvious that an educational system based upon the notorious British public schools would include child sexual predation. This has continued at least to the last generation or two as seen in the book A Very Private School as Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother, describes.
After having lived through and read through some of the history, it is my opinion that child sexual predation is something of a rite of passage in elite prep schools and thus throughout the “upper classes” of USAmerica.
This is some of the background to the Epstein affair which is almost never mentioned and thus keeps the fires of outrage stoked.
And there’s a whole other festering compost pile of dirt around Epstein and MIT.
Having read ‘One Nation Under Blackmail’ by Whitney Webb it’s more than fair to say Jeffery Epstein was working a blackmail operation for more than one intelligence agency. Who got all the data he collected over the years and where is it now?
Lots of assumptions there, and zero facts.
Epstein…meh. Before Epstein, there was this:
(From the WayBack Machine:) Talon News | Jeff Gannon / James Dale Guckert aka “Bulldog” (2005)
Also this: 1989’s Craig Spence White House “midnight tours.”
(I read about this one in my regional paper as a teen and I was completely fascinated. :p
https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-07-07-mn-3571-story.html )
It appears that Epstein et al, learned lessons of being careful from earlier similar in nature cases.
To me, the most important thing to note here is that the question got under Trump’s skin, so persist in using that to display his weakness and fragility to the world.
Excellent point. So does Russia, Russia, Russian.
What else gets under his skin?
I see that Lev Parnas is trying to get attention by claiming Epstein was working for CIA.
