Pam Bondi Reportedly Created 1,000 Witnesses to the Jeffrey Epstein File
Dick Durbin wrote another of a slew of letters Democrats have sent to Pam Bondi and others about Jeffrey Epstein this year. This one provides details of the review of the Epstein file Bondi ordered:
According to information my office received, you then pressured the FBI to put approximately 1,000 personnel in its Information Management Division (IMD), including the Record/Information Dissemination Section (RIDS), which handles all requests submitted by the public under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act, on 24-hour shifts to review approximately 100,000 Epstein-related records in order to produce more documents that could be released on an arbitrarily short deadline. This effort, which reportedly took place from March 14 through the end of March, was haphazardly supplemented by hundreds of FBI New York Field Office personnel, many of whom lacked the expertise to identify statutorily-protected information regarding child victims and child witnesses or properly handle FOIA requests.
My office was told that these personnel were instructed to “flag” any records in which President Trump was mentioned.
[snip]
5. Aside from the negative backlash you received over the February 27 record release, what was the purpose of placing almost 1,000 FBI IMD personnel on 24-hour shifts to review Epstein-related records over the course of a two-week period in March?
6. Who made the decision to reassign hundreds of New York Field Office personnel to this March review of Epstein-related records?
7. Why were personnel told to flag records in which President Trump was mentioned?
a. Please list all political appointees and senior DOJ officials involved in the decision to flag records in which President Trump was mentioned.
b. What happened to the records mentioning President Trump once they were flagged?
c. Is there a log of the records mentioning President Trump? If yes, please transmit a copy of the log to the Committee and the OIG.
Remember: Trump’s appointees have fired two people who would know details of this: the head of the NY Field Office, James Dennehy, who was forced to retire amid allegations the NYFO was sitting on the files, and Maurene Comey, who has been involved in FOIA responses regarding these files.
Either could now give protected whistleblower statements to Durbin.
But they’re not the only ones.
In her bid to review these files, Bondi created one thousand witnesses to what is in the Epstein file — and Bondi’s attempt to politicize the search for Epstein files.
One thousand.
Update: Durbin’s staff has now posted the letter, plus letters he wrote to Kash Patel and Dan Bongino. Of both FBI men, Durbin asked why they said the video was “raw” when it had actually been altered.
13. Why does the July 7 memorandum describe the surveillance footage as “full raw” when it was modified?
a) Please describe in detail all of the modifications made to the “full raw” surveillance footage before its publication.
And of Kash, he asks what conspiracy theories Kash was chasing.
15. What are the conspiracy theories you are referring to in your July 12 tweet that “were never true?” If there are more than one, please explain each in detail.
He also asked why Bongino had to take a day for his fee fees.
15. Is this dispute between you and White House and DOJ officials the reason behind your July 11 absence from work?
Wow 1k potential witnesses to her impeachment trial!
Latest video on Fox youtube:
“‘It’s really rare’: Trump pushes AG Bondi to unseal Epstein records”
I have to admit Fox has some clever writers. Look how transparent Trump is!
I remember this move well.
“Nixon releases tape transcripts.”
Marcy’s post just before this one, discussing Trump’s sudden about face, uses part of the famous “limited modified hangout” that John Dean testified to, and that the WH tapes verified. It has that feel now, doesn’t it? But Trump is no Nixon; he’s gonna go down hard.
“I might not have a Roy Cohn anymore, but Pam Bondi is my Rosemary Woods!”
…and the minute “under 18” gap?
Here are the complete unedited Epstein files, just like the photo of Abrego Garcia’s hand.
Trump pushes Bondi to appear to be trying to release records, but not the ones she already has control over.
I’ve given some thought to this.
Fox News hires people who take a sliver of truth and write an entire article around that sliver. Or, they take the opposite of Dems want, say, or do, and write in support the opposite and bash Dems while doing so.
My most favorite thing that Faux “News” does is label a bad actor R as a Democrat.
“Bondi created one thousand witnesses to what is in the Epstein file”
Now she’s wishing she’d thought of that ahead of time.
Thinking ahead of the consequences is not the forte of a MAGAt.
She’s not very bright. I suspect that she gets a lot of coaching.
I’d be very surprised it that had been Bondi’s idea. She’s not *that* stupid. On the other hand, it’s the kind of dumbass task–wasting thousands of hours of highly trained personnel on what is obviously a vanity quest–that the guy who stole classified documents from the White House and stashed them in his bathroom would come up with.
This was a Trump move. And we paid for it.
When you fail to plan, you’ve planned to fail.

1000 witnesses, and 1000 copies of any memos or emails detailing exactly what they were tasked with doing.
And then there are the dozens of supervisors, not directly working on this project, but who got the other memos and emails telling them “we need half your team to drop what they are doing, so they can work on this 24/7 review. You can pick who to send us, but you *will* send us half your team.”
Bondi and Trump are about to find out the wisdom made famous by Ol’ Poor Richard: three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.
It’s almost dead-certainty that the WSJ-pubished birthday letter from Trump to Epstein, along with the other Epstein bombshells being detonated (Dem Senators also being given their own incendiary devices), are being provided by some of those pissed off FBI agents. Their careers have been hijacked by a cabal that they would normally be charged with prosecuting; that’s a pretty compelling motive for going outside the box to bring the fvckers down.
Don’t overestimate the political independence of the FBI rank and file, Bruce. And definitely don’t fall for the Trump trope about it being a “radical left” organization.
Have you read Sedition Hunters by Ryan Reilly? I didn’t read it when it came out. I was afraid it wouldn’t have aged well, but in fact it’s even more urgent now. The DOJ, and especially the FBI, have been showing signs of internal collapse for much longer than I realized.
That’s a really good point. I mean we can all be pretty damn sure that at least 30 or percent of these agents can’t stand trump. So, posting his deepest dirtiests will be super satisfying.
This sounds like the reason Trump is so terrified of where the Epstein story has gone.
Too many FBI agents know too much. He us unlikely able to fire and frighten his way through this self created issue.
A question I have wondered. Why isn’t the DoJ prosecuting those they have documentation of for these crimes. Is it past the statute of limitations?
Oooohh-la-la! Whistleblower(s) in the FBI? Dan Bongino (probably not)?
Sounds like AG Bondi decided to do what an AG should do – look through files before releasing them. And she decided to put the pedal to the metal to fulfill Trump’s promise. But, it is not clear if the purpose of the review was to protect victims, innocent witnesses, or ongoing prosecutions (all of which would be proper purposes) and/or to protect Trump.
And it then took Bondi almost 3 months to announce there was nothing to see in those files. Maybe she decided that, in fact, there was too much to see.
“Maybe she decided that, in fact, there was too much to see.”
This. Except I doubt the decision was hers entirely; I’d bet money she briefed Trump on her findings and he quailed in fear, forcing her to come with that “Nothing to see here” letter.
Benjamin Franklin (allegedly), “”Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.”
Reduction in Force did not at all impact or negatively affect any one of those 1002 witnesses, did it?

A thousand vows and
A thousand hows and
A thousand points of light
A thousand brows and
A thousand nows and
A thousand count hindsight
A thousand wows and
A thousand ows and
A thousand contacts bright
This one has me riveted. I keep reading it over and over. The more I do, the more it feels like “A thousand count hindsight” should swap places with “A thousand contacts bright”…
BUT that is only me playing with YOUR words. The most important thing I have to say is thank you so much for sharing these lines with us here, for giving my mind something to work with besides the daily horror show we’re all trying to fight.
I do believe medical research has shown Savage Librarian to be an effective weapon in combating cognitive decline AND dysthymia!
It’s been nagging at me that something was not quite right, especially with the last line. I think your recommendation definitely makes it better, Ginevra. Thanks for that!
I remember when we first started conversing you said something about my craft. And I told you I didn’t have a craft, it was therapy. All the better if others find motivation, usefulness, or voices of their own.
Put a little pep in the Epstein files
Put a little shine on the news

George Bush’s “Fool Me Once” Gaffe
It’s always been obvious to me that Bush flubbed that aphorism because he was fundamentally incapable of saying “Shame on me” out loud.
Nah, he fumbled it because that’s the kind of guy he is. The quintessential cheerleader/frat boy, but the popular one. The one who could joke his way through Yale and not lose a single friend.
Wyden is pushing follow the money. MSN has second sourced much published on that. Elon’s people, late March, what were they doing, where was their focus, and what record access database have they made and turned over to Elon?
Is this we don’t have him on the direct evidence that Biden’s people held for four years, but can we gin up a cover-up crime? Might the Biden people have turned over much to the National Archives before leaving – available for cross checking anything held back? Those are all legit questions, but following the money from banking reports of over-$1000 transactions, even if incomplete because of bank reporting inadequacies, should show more than the continued republishing of photos of Trump and Epstein together.
I LOVE this!! I love what Trump is doing to himself. I love the press and media on it now and to come. I love EW’s take and insight on it. I hope those QAnon lovelies never let this drop. I hope none of us ever lets this drop. I love this mostly for all the girls, now women, who were abused by all these many, many pieces of shite. And who put their hope and trust in Trump that he would ‘release the files’ and ‘client list’ if elected. I hope they live long enough (because the abusers of the Catholic Church took forever to be exposed) to see ALL of these men’s name brought out into the sunlight of the press for their friends, family, acquaintances, coworkers and history to know who these people really are and what they did.
What did Patel and Bongino think was happening when Bondi assigned so many FBI folks to research the Epstein Files?
Were Patel and Bongino so out of the loop that they didn’t know that their subordinates were pulled away from their normal duties for this Epstein Project?
@RonWyden says there are over 4000 potential lines of Investigation into Epsteins bank Account Records !!!!
Epstein Bank account File Needs to be released !! https://x.com/Acyn/status/1945922319139971486

Could someone as sexually impulsive & reckless as trump be able to restrain himself while others were shagging hot underage girls all around him on Lolita Island? Naaah… I’m sure he was In Like Flynn.
I’ve read that the FBI files were on SharePoint and that there are currently ongoing attacks on SharePoint through a security vulnerability in the program. Would be interesting if the Epstein SharePoint files were hacked by outside forces. Looking at you Anonymous or WikiLeaks.
