Rationalizing the Hospital Visit
/in FISA/by emptywheelMurray Waas reports that DOJ investigators are trying to figure out whether Alberto Gonzales fictionalized notes of the March 10, 2004 Gang of Eight briefing to provide a rationale for Bush reauthorizing the warrantless wiretap program without Comey’s approval. But it appears that Gonzales did so, as well, to invent a reason why he and Andy Card went to the hospital later that day.
